AP spent all funds under SC/ST Sub-Plan

Amaravati: Minister Nakka Ananda Babu said that the state government spent more than 95 per cent of SC/ST Sub-Plan funds this financial year. 

Ananda Babu said that the government had been effectively implementing welfare schemes for SCs in the state. He addressed a press conference along with minister for tribal welfare Kidari Sravan Kumar at the Secretariat on Tuesday.

Ananda Babu said that the state government also spent hundred per cent SC/ST Sub- Plan budget for the welfare of the communities in the last four years, becoming th only state government in the country to do so.

The minister explained that from 2014 onwards, the state government allocated Rs 29, 025 crore under SC Sub Plan and spent Rs 26,922 crore, which is about 92 per cent.

During the current financial year, the SC component is Rs 11,338 crore. Under ST Sub Plan, the state government allocated Rs 10,033 crore from 2014 and spent Rs 8,949 crore which is about 89 per cent, Ananda Babu said.  At the same time, the state government allocated Rs 4,176 crore under the same component for this year.
