Unions express solidarity with Aurobindo workers

Srikakulam: All employees, workers, labour union leaders and people’s organisations have expressed their solidarity to the ongoing agitation of Aurobindo Pharmaceutical company workers. All the unions conducted a unite meet at Pydibhimavaram in Ranastalam mandal under the aegis of CITU. 

Speaking on the occasion, CITU State vice-president Duppala Govinda Rao came down heavily on the Aurobindo management for not solving workers’ demands for the last eight months. 

He demanded for enhancement of workers’ salaries on par with market rates, placement for local qualified youth and allotment of funds for development of pollution affected villages. Representatives of Vyabasaya Karmika Sangham, AP Rythu Sangham, Mahila Sangham, Bhavana Nirmana Karmika Sangham also spoke. 

Leaders of workers unions of Sampistons Company, United Beverages Company, Varam Power Plant, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, Aasha workers union, mid-day meal workers association also attended the programme and expressed their support to the employees. The workers union of Aurobindo announced that they will go on strike from December 11 demanding to solve their pending issues.
