7 member cricket betting gang busted

Kadapa: Proddaturu police have arrested a 7 member gang on the charges of performing cricket betting related to Pakistan Vs Newziland and recovered Rs 9lakhs from them on Tuesday.

 The accused were identified as 1. V.Baskar Reddy Lakshmipet village 2.G.Jayendra Kethavaram village, Chapadu mandal, 3.Lakshmi Narasimha Venkupalli village,4. A.Venkata Suresh Kanaguduru village,5. Paton Ameer Khan Duvvuru village of Duvvuru mandal, 6.P.Pullaiah Vasavi nagar Mydukuru town, 7.P.Srinivasulu S.Rajampet village of Sidhavatam mandal.

Addressing press conference Proddaturu SI Jayanaij told the media persons on Tuesday following tip off they have conducted raids at a home located in Kaluva street as the accused were  caught in red hand  while indulging in the crime. He said that the accused attracting the students  and youth  in surrounding areas for playing cricket betting  by vowing them to gain easy money through the illegal trade as they collected huge amounts from them.
