5-member cricket betting gang held

Kadapa: The cops arrested a gang of five members for indulging in illegal cricket betting in the city on Thursday and recovered Rs 2.5 lakh cash, a TV set, 9 mobiles and 2 kg ganja from them. The accused were identified as G V Samrat, Sheik Mahamood, G Mahesh Reddy, P Konda Reddy and K Ravi Sankar.

Speaking to the media here, city DSP Sheik Masoom Basha said that a team led by SIs G Amarnath Reddy and N Rajarajeswara Reddy raided a house at Sastri Nagar in Kadapa and arrested the accused red-handed. The police registered a case against the accused.
