Ongole: With the participation of officers from education, police, legal, revenue, labour departments, women welfare, BC welfare, social welfare, child welfare committee members, child protection officers, childline and HELP NGO, the district legal services authority organised a child labour rescue drive in Ongole on Thursday and rescued 52 children from bonded labour.

DLSA chairperson and district judge MG Priyadarsini said that the children should spend their childhood in the schools but not in the workshops and factories. She announced that they conducted searches in railway, bus stations and mechanic shops.

DLSA secretary T Raja Venkatadri said that everyone should work to eradicate child labour by not allowing the children to work in dangerous conditions. He advised the parents to not depend on the children and let them develop with the help of education.
