UP boy bags gold in archery

Vijayawada: Water Resource Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao inaugurated Cherukuri Lenin- Volga memorial 11th mini Under-14 and 3rd open kids Under-9 National archery championships were formally inaugurated at Siddhartha Institute of hotel management premises to mark the birth anniversary of former Archer, the Late Cherukuri Lenin of Vijayawada here on Wednesday. 

The championship was jointly organised by AP Archery Association, Cherukuri Volga Academy, SAAP, KDSA, KDOA.

In under-14 years Indian Round, 20 and 30 meters category Rohith Kumar from Uttar Pradesh bagged Gold. Rohit secured 344 points out of 360 in 30 meters and 354 in 20 meters.

Sarita Kumari from Jharkhand excelled under-14 years girls category in 30 meters, she secured 329 points out of 360. 

Rahul Singh from Jharkhand with 342 points followed by Alpi Tudu from Jharkhand with 342 stand in the next two places to Rohith Kumar in 30 meters Indian Round Under-14 category. 

Shiva Gwala of Jharkhand with 348 and Nishanth Singh from Uttar Pradesh with 346 stand in the next two places. 

In the 30 meters Under-14 girls category Moirangthem Baby Devi of Manipur followed by Bhawaana Singh bagged Silver and bronze medals respectively.
