Devi Navaratrulu from Oct 10 in Rajamahendravaram

Rajamahendravaram: Sri Devi Utsav Committee is making elaborate arrangements for conducting nine-day Devi Navaratrulu in Devi Chowk centre here from October 10 to 18. 

The committee is performing the festival for 84 years and now entered into 85th year.

Disclosing the details at a press conference, the committee president, T Dhanaraju said that the idol of Goddess Durga Matha will be installed on October 9, at 11.43 pm at the auspicious time and Kalasa Sthapana will be held on October 10, at 8.13 am.

Goddess Durga Devi will be decorated in various avatarams during the nine-day festival. 

On the first day of nine-day festival, the Goddess will bless the devotees in Swarna Kavacha Durga Devi avataram, second day Gayatri Devi avataram, third day with Annapurna Devi avataram, fourth day with Maha Lakshmi Devi avataram,  fifth day with Lalitha Devi avataram, sixth day with Saraswathi Devi avataram, seventh day Bala Tripura Sundari Devi avataram, eighth day Durga Devi aavataram, ninth day Mahishasuramardhini avataram and on tenth day with Raja Rajeswari Devi avataram.

Pooja with 108 couples will be performed on October 14 on Moola Nakshatram. 

Meanwhile, during the nine day fest, dance programmes, stage plays, orchestra etc will enthrall the audience from 10 PM every night. 

He appealed to the people to participate in the celestial fete every day to get the blessings of Goddess Durga Devi.

Committee secretary PS Koteswara Rao, treasurer A Namasibaya and others were present.
