Devi Navaratrulu begin on a grand note at Srisailam temple

Kurnool: The Dasara Mahotsavams also known as Devi Navaratrulu were started on a grand note at Srisailam temple on Sunday. The Temple Executive Officer (EO) KS Rama Rao launched the programmes on the first day of the nine-day festivities as per the rituals and in a traditional manner. The Mahotsavams will conclude on the 8th of October.

The festival was started with special pujas like Ustava Sankalpam and Ganapati pooja and Siva Sankalpam at Yagasala. The temple officials and main priest have offered special poojas to Lord Mallikarjuna Swami and his consort Bramarambha Devi.

These utsavams will continue till October 8 and ends with Chandi Yagam and Purnahuti. The temple authorities have made elaborate arrangements to provide necessary facilities for the devotees who will come from different parts of AP and also from other states, KS Rama Rao said.

The important events of these utsavams are: performing of Chandiyagam, Rudrayagam, Navadurga Alankaras to Goddess and Vahana Sevas to the deities and other pujas. Goddess Bramaramba Devi is mainly worshiped in these utsavams. During every day of the nine-day celebrations various religious rituals like Srichakrarchana, Navavarana puja, Anustanams and Devi Sapthasathi Parayanas besides Yagams will be be performed.
