Municipal Corporation of Tirupati to be plastic free from Oct 2
Tirupati: Commissioner V Vijaya Rama Raju said the Municipal Corporation of Tirupati has planned to completely ban plastic products.
Inaugurating the exhibition on alternatives to plastics here on Saturday, he said the civic body is organising the exhibition for educating the people with leading paper and leaf-based production manufactures in the country.
The commissioner informed that if anybody uses, sells or manufactures the plastic related products from October 2, they will be charged huge fines by the MCT staffers.
He gave a call to people to visit the exhibition as it is useful for them in day to day life.
Corporation secretary Manohar and Chamber of Commerce president P Manjunath were present.
MCT high school students performed cultural activities with a theme on plastic affects on human life.
