App launched for payment of garbage collection fee

Tirupati: The Municipal Corporation of Tirupati (MCT) Commissioner V Vijaya Rama Raju has launched a mobile app for payment of garbage collection fee at a programme here on Monday. He collected Rs 500 from a hotelier for garbage clearance by municipal staff.  

It may be noted imposing service charge for collection of garbage was included by a recent municipal resolution. In continuation to that, civic chief has visited few hotels on Monday and enquired about the garbage generation quantity and segregation of waste.

He has advised hoteliers to set up on site compost units in their respective hotels. He informed them that in coming days RASS volunteers would come to hoteliers along with civic body staff for collecting the garbage service charges.
