Ex-CBI JD pats villagers for giving up alcohol

Vizianagaram: Former IPS officer V V Lakshminarayana said that he has been visiting every district only to study the living standards of people and to know how the people are struggling to lead their lives.

Inaugurating Praja Chaitanya Kendram, a social service organisation during his visit to the district on Thursday, Lakshmiarayana said the people, especially farmers, were not able to avail the welfare schemes being launched by the government and they were not in a position to meet the tahsildar to avail the services.

He said the Praja Chaitanya Kendram would help the people in availing the services and added retired officers would be available in those centres to serve the people. “Now, the people can take their help to get the services from police and revenue,” he said.

The former cop said that he would adopt Seetharam Pitam village of Gajapatinagaram constituency as promised earlier.  He thanked the villagers for giving up alcohol . Later, he distributed identity cards for artistes issued by the government.
