Physiotherapy centre for aged inaugurated

 Guntur: District Collector Kona Sasidhar said the district administration is giving priority for the welfare of old age people and set up a helpline to solve their problems apart from opening of a physiotherapy centre.

He inaugurated AP Senior Citizens Samakhya office, Physiotherapy Centre and helpline for old age persons set up in the Municipal Corporation primary school in Brodipet on Saturday.

Speaking on this occasion, he said they would set up helpline and physiotherapy centre’s in all municipalities in the district. He urged the old age people to avail the welfare schemes being introduced by the government for their welfare.

District judge Hariharanath Sarma said the aim of conducting the meeting was to know whether old age people have any idea about welfare schemes being introduced by the government or not.

He said that old age people were residing in the villages, some of them had no financial problems, their children were neglecting in some other cases while they were suffering from loneliness also.

Guntur Municiple Corporation Commissioner Srikesh B Lathkar said they would set up a library for old age people.
