Section 144 clamped in Guntur dist till May 24

Guntur: Collector Kona Sasidhar clamped Section -144 of IPC till May 24 at 6 pm from May 22, 6 am for smooth of counting of votes. He issued orders to this effect.

The district administration set up counting centres at ANU to count votes of Guntur Parliament constituency and Assembly constituencies come under the purview of Guntur Parliamentary constituency, Vemur, Repalle and Bapatla Assembly constituencies.

Narasaraopet Parliament constituency and Assembly constituencies come under the purview of Narasaraopet Lok Sabha constituency will be counted in Loyola Public School in Guntur city.

The police department-imposed Section -30 of Police Act and there was no permission for conducting victory celebrations and bursting of crackers. Meanwhile, the police made elaborate security arrangements at the counting centres and stepped up vigilance on the movement of suspects.

Additional forces have been deployed at the counting centres.
