MLA Badeti Bujji meets pensioners
Eluru: The MLA Badeti Bujji mingled with the pensioners and enquired their welfare here, on Wednesday.
The Pensioners relating to old-age, widows, handloom workers and handicapped talked to the MLA at the corporation high school in the 32nd division.
Saraswati, a pensioner praised the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for helping her in old age to get Rs 1,000 pension on the first day of every month.
While she spends part of the pension on the medication, the remaining sum would be used for the purchase of essential commodities. The MLA requested her to vote for TDP and had asked her to encourage other people to vote for Naidu so that he would win with majority.
An old man with a partial deformity asked the MLA to rise his pension from Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,500. He said that the existing pension was not sufficient enough for him.
A group of pensioners complained to the MLA that the pension was insufficient to meet their family demands. They also asked the MLA to help them get houses.
The MLA said, while all other employees were getting salary a bit late, the pensioners were getting their pension on the very first day.
With many financial difficulties, the government was trying to handover pensions to them as early as possible.
A pensioner would be getting Rs 60,000 towards pension during the five year tenure of the TDP, he added.
