Educate people on Centre’s role in welfare, BJP cadres told
Ongole: BJP leaders asked the party activists and leaders to educate the people that welfare scheme being implemented and claimed as its own by the state government were actually funded by the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre.
BJP state president Kanna Lakshminarayana and former Union minister Daggubati Purandeswari participated in the Prakasam district BJP Office Bearers meeting held here on Monday. The district unit of BJP organised a rally from the Mangamma College to the MS Function hall as Kanna Lakshminarayana is visiting the district for the first time after he was appointed as the state party president.
Addressing the meeting, Purandheswari said that the BJP has become the largest party in the world with about 13 crore memberships. She advised the cadres to take the message to masses that the Central government was behind every welfare scheme claimed by the state government and that the TDP was ruling the state on the foundation of lies and backstabbing.
Stating that BJP believes in the faster development of small states, she asserted that BJP never cheated Andhra Pradesh people at any stage. “TDP supported the bifurcation and asked for equal justice in a letter. What is meant by equal justice? Why didn’t they ask Polavaram? But seven mandals were merged into the state by the Centre on its own,” she said.
Purandeswari said that the TDP cheated the farmers and DWCRA women by reneging on the poll promises of unconditional loan waiver and unemployed youth with unemployment allowance.
She said that every scheme the state government is taking credit for was a Central government scheme and was being implemented in the state with the cooperation and help from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP.
Party state president Kanna Lakshminarayana said that the motto of the BJP is the development of the poorest of the poor and it is working for the development and betterment of living standards in the country. He said that the state government was renaming the Central government schemes and the TDP leaders were resorting to corruption in their implementation, including the construction of toilets.
Lakshminarayana said that the money was being spent by the Central government but it is looted by the persons in the state government. He said that the state government is just a mediator in the construction of Polavaram project. When the Central government believed in Chandrababu and gave the responsibility of the Polavaram project to the state, he said, the corrupt TDP leaders distributed the subcontracts to their own people.
