AP Brahmin Cooperative Society satellite branch launched
Tirupati: AP Brahmin Welfare Corporation Chairman Vemuri Anand Surya inaugurated the Brahmin Cooperative Society Satellite Branch here on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, Anand Surya said the corporation is taking up aggressive campaign to popularise its schemes to reach out to eligible poor members of Brahmin community to avail financial support.
He said for the first time the Brahmins were able to get financial support from schemes like Chanakya for setting up businesses with subsidy which was hitherto confined only to SCs, STs and BCs due to initiative taken up by TDP government led by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
The is the second Branch of Brahmin Cooperative Society in Chittoor district, the first one was inaugurated last month in Madanapalli. Balasubramanayam said opening of the AP Brahmin Cooperative Society satellite branch will give impetus to the society activities in Chittoor where it has more than 4000 members, one of the largest in the state.
He said currently implementing two schemes Arundati for female members and Vasishta for male members to extend group loans on the lines of SHG group loans. The opening of the Branch will facilitate mortgage of properties, sanctioning of gold loans and also accepting fixed deposits from members only.
On the occasion, group loans to the tune of Rs 16.20 lakh were disbursed. Brahmin Cooperative Credit Society vice chairman C Swarajyalakshmi, district coordinator C Hanumantha Rao and others were present.
