MLA promises houses to tailors
Eluru: MLA Badeti Kota Rama Rao (Bujji) assured that permanent houses would be constructed to the tailors in the city. Addressing as chief guest at the World Tailors Day meeting held at Tailors Welfare Association building at Pattebada area on Wednesday, the MLA suggested the tailors to apply for houses within two days. Those names would be uploaded online to sanction the permanent houses. He said that the tailors make us beautiful with their artistic tailoring of clothes.
He said they have to change to the newest fashions for better income sources. He informed that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was implementing various schemes to the BCs and tailors who were in Backward Classes category. He urged the tailors to utilise those facilities. He said that he had allotted Rs 1.5 crore worth site for the construction of the Tailors association building free of cost and Eluru MP Maganti Venkateswara Rao had allotted MPLADS in two phases for the construction of the building. The Tailors Welfare Association leader, Kommana Srinivasa Rao felicitated deputy mayor Nayudu Pothuraju on the occasion.
The MLA garlanded the portrait of the inventor of tailoring William Ellas Howe and paid tributes. Municipal Cooption member SMR Pedababu, Corporators Pridhvi Sarada, Tailors Welfare Association chairman V Nagendra, president Hussain, vice-president Lakshman, secretary Nageswara Rao and treasurer Jayababu participated in the programme.
