MLA inaugurates walking track for women

Eluru: MLA Badeti Kota Rama Rao (Bujji) said that LED lighting facility would be provided along the walking track constructed at a cost of Rs 15 lakh at Government Junior College in Eluru for the benefit of women. He inaugurated the walking track, Gnana Vignana Vedika and Bharata Siri Chettu constructed by Happy Walkers Association at Government Junior College in Kota Dibba on Friday.

The MLA informed that there was steady increase in the number of women appearing at morning walk. In view of this, the street lighting would be arranged for the protection of the women.  He commended the efforts of Happy Walkers Association president and 8th Division Corporator Maram Hanumanta Rao in constructing the walking track and other development works. The MLA recalled that the Government Junior College in Kotadibba had witnessed historic events and several students who studied here were now in top positions.  

KK Gupta, businessman who provided financial assistance to the Gnana Vignana Vedika construction said that earlier a Gnana Mandir existed at the Government Junior College. Now, it was in a dilapidated condition. In view of this, the Gnana Vignana Vedika was reconstructed. 

MLC Ramu Surya Rao, AP Handicrafts Development Corporation Chairman Pali Prasad, AMC Chairman Pujari Niranjan, Eluru Municipal Corporation cooption member SMR Pedababu, Deputy Mayor Nayudu Pothuraju, Rotary Club of Eluru Elite president Kottu Manoj, the Congress City Committee president Rajanala Ramamohan Rao, Walkers association vice-president Kandula Varadaraju, MV Suresh, secretary Dandapati Rajakumar and others participated.
