Sports, yoga help overcome work-stress: Home Minister

Kakinada: Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Nimmakayala China Rajappa participated as the chief guest at the valedictory ceremony of the three-day long Revenue Employees Sports Meet at the sports authority stadium here on Saturday night. 

He suggested the employees to adopt sports and Yoga into their lifestyles in order to overcome work stress and illness. While addressing the closing ceremony, Rajappa expressed his happiness over the participation of the revenue department personnel from VRA to the IAS-levels. 

Rajappa further informed that he played volleyball and other sports to overcome work related stress. He also said that they were successfully completing any sports or cultural events in the district and mentioned about the recently concluded Beach Festival and the revenue employee’s sports meets. 

Special invitees, Chief Secretary (Revenue) Department Manmohan Singh, Principal Secretary M Ravi Chandra and Deputy Chairman of Legislative Council, Reddy Subrahmanyam also spoke at the closing ceremony. 

District Collector Kartikeya Mishra appreciated the sportsman spirit of all the seven revenue divisions in the district. President of Revenue Services Association Bopparaju Venkateswarlu informed that they had decided to organise the State-level Revenue Employees Sports meet here. 

In the revenue sports meet, Amalapuram revenue division secured the overall championship while the Rajahmundry division secured the runner's position. Later, prizes were distributed to the winners in individual and team events. 

Kakinada MP Thota Narasimham, ZP Chairman Jyothula Navin Kumar, MLC Chikkala Ramachandra Rao, MLAs Datla Subba Raju, Anantha Lakshmi, JCs Mallikarjuna, Radha Krishna Murthy, Sub-Collectors Vinod Kumar, Srikanth Varma and ITDA PO Abshikta Kishore and others took active part in the sports meet.
