Pregnant Woman Dies Of Labour Pain On Road After Hospitals Refuse Treatment
In what could be termed as a shocking case of medical negligence, a pregnant woman in Maharashtra died in an autorickshaw after three hospitals in Thane refused to admit her.
A police case has been filed against all the three hospitals and probe is underway. This incident is said to have taken place two days ago but came to light only today.
The victim has been identified as Mehek Khan who was 22 years old. The woman who was in severe labour pain went hospital hopping at midnight only to be denied treatment by the medical staff.
The Bilal Hospital, Prime Criticare Hospital and Universal Hospital are the 3 places where the victim went to seeking medical treatment. She was accompanied by a family member.
After being denied admission in all the three hospitals, the woman who experienced excruciating pain is said to have died in the autorickshaw itself.
The shocked family has lodged a complaint against the three hospitals at the Mumbra police station. The police is said to have registered FIRs against the hospitals.
BJP leader Ram Kadam hit out at the Maharashtra government over the incident. He also tweeted the plight of the poor woman who lost her life on the road after being denied Admission to the hospitals.
