Wine shop creating traffic hurdles

Yapral: The wine shop, located on Yapral Road, is despised by many not for selling liquor, but for bringing the traffic to a halt on quite a few stretches in the area.

The location where the wine shop is located is always teeming with buyers, their vehicles are parked on roads and sellers of various food items that go with the liquor block the traffic flow on the road.

The road from Yapral to Balaji Nagar is the case in point where heavy traffic jams are a daily affair during peak hours. Throngs of shoppers at wine shops dotting the stretch make the situation worse, and mostly on the weekends, the problem is worse for the vehicles and pedestrians to pass this way. The vehicles are parked on the road, leading to narrowing of the space," says Kapil, a retail shopkeeper.

The wine shop on the stretch gets heavy crowd, leaving no space either for vehicles or pedestrians. Many have complained to the police on social media platforms about the issue, but those are merely forwarded to the Excise department, says another retailer.
