Uncertainty grips netas as local polls approach

Pudur: There is a lot of unrest among the leaders of the major political parties regarding the parishad elections to be held at four mandals in Parigi constituency on May 6, as part of the first phase.

The election officials have decided to accept nominations for the MPTC and ZPTC seats till April 24. After the nominations, many optimistic candidates were concerned about the delays in the selection of candidates. With the lack of time, many candidates from major political parties were uncertain about receiving the B-Form.

It became difficult for the political parties, as officials allotted only three days to file nominations. Even aspirants scrambled to gain consent from their high command. Although the deadline for nominations was ended on April 24, officials gave time for submission of B-Forms, as mentioned in the nominations. Now, the candidates are planning to get party's consent and started their lobbying.

There are 13 MPTC seats, along with one ZPTC, and 38,200 voters in Pudur mandal. There is a tough competition between TRS and Congress candidates. In some places, parties got clarity, as there contenders are almost finalized.

here are problems where more than one candidate from the same party is in the fray. Places like Angadi Chittampally, Manneguda, Manchanpally, Enkepalli, Pedda Ummenthal etc., are facing this situation. All the candidates want to support party elders.

The parties are giving assurance to the candidates that they would be given all the opportunities in the future. They want their leaders to withdraw their nominations before the deadline and cooperate for the victory of their candidates.

As many as 58 candidates filed nominations for the 13 MPTC seats in the three-day nomination time. The BJP candidates who believed that they have chances of winning the polls filed nominations for Pudur MPTC seat and in other two places.
