First phase campaign concludes today
Siddipet: The campaign for the first phase of Zilla Parishad elections will end by the evening of Saturday as only two days are left for the polls. Candidates are fighting tooth and nail for victory. Elections in Siddipet division will be held on Monday. Official machinery has made all necessary arrangements for smooth conduct of the polls. Officials are ensuring the coordination among the staff.
Every polling station has been geo-tagged. Awareness about electioneering and model code of conduct was organised for the candidates of all political parties. MPTC and ZPTC elections will be held in 1,320 polling stations. Polling will be held for 229 MPTC seats and 22 ZPTC seats.
In first phase, elections will be held in Siddipet urban, Siddipet rural, Narayanraopet, Nangunuru, Chinakoduru, Thoguta, Mirdoddi, Dubbak, Daultabad, Raipole mandals. In this phase, elections for 96 MPTCs and nine ZPTCs will be held. 210 polling locations and 539 polling stations are arranged. 13 sensitive polling locations and 197 normal locations have been identified.
The second phase will be held on May 10 in Gajwel, Jagdevpur, Kondapaka, Mulgu, Markuru, Vargal mandals for 64 MPTC and six ZPTCs. 388 polling stations are arranged out of which 15 sensitive locations, 135 normal polling locations are identified.
The third phase of elections will be held on May 14 in Husnabad, Koheda, Akkannapet, Bejjanki, Cheryal, Maddur, Komuravelli mandals for 69 MPTC, seven ZPTC positions. 393 polling stations are arranged. There are 159 polling locations in which 17 are identified as sensitive and 142 are normal. Officials said stringent action will be taken against those who violate election code.
Webcasting is done from every polling station. All the polling stations are supervised from the police command control room. 103.62 litres of liquor was seized and cases were booked against 8 persons. Bind over cases have been booked on 41 people.
