TRS govt criticised for neglect of education system
Osmania University: Telangana Inti Party president Dr Cheruku Sudhakar on Tuesday called for giving utmost importance to strengthening of education system in the State to benefit students who had actively participated in the separatist struggle.
He was speaking after the inauguration of the third State Mahasabha organised by Telangana Students' Unit (TSU) at OU Distance Education Centre. He unveiled the flag at Arts College and garlanded Prof Jayashankar's portrait.
Both Sudhakar and Prof Quasim criticised the State government for failing to achieve the lofty goals for which students had agitated. They pointed out that there was a shortage of teaching faculty in OU severely affecting students, while claiming that the education system was better during the combined State.
The two leaders hit out at the State government for failing to create the basic facilities in universities and targeted Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for not visiting any university as a 'vengeful act against students'. They advised students and student organisations to strive for strengthening the education system in tune with the aspirations of Telangana martyrs.
The new office-bearers of TSU were elected at the mahasabha. Among those present included Yepuri Somanna, unit president Krishna Madiga, general secretary Prajapathi Satyanarayana and OU students.
