NGO move to enhance employability of youth

Charminar: With the objective of increasing employability of youth, Al-Khair Society started a free computer centre for poor and under privileged at its Old City office in Purani Haveli on Sunday.

According to organisers, the unemployed youth can achieve what they were not able to achieve before learning the basic courses. They can even start their own businesses with the skill set they acquire at the centre. There will be different batches for girls and boys, where male and female faculty will teach them starting from computer basics.

"While the poor are not being charged, others pay a nominal fee of Rs 300. The registration for the program has already started," said Azam Ali Baig of Al-Khair Society.

Baig further said that irrespective of religious background, youth can avail of the opportunity and call upon the youngsters to utilise it, so that everyone in modern world stay connected with the technology and use it for good purposes.

The diploma in computer application includes MS-DOS & Windows, MS-Office, Internet and its uses like browsing, e-mails, project work, online data entry and job training. Md Muneeruddin, secretary at Al-Khair Society, Dr Islamuddin Mujahid and others were present on the occasion.
