Minister Koppula Eshwar holds review of arrangements for Christmas

Hyderabad: A review meeting on conducting Christmas celebrations, chaired by Minister for Minorities Welfare Koppula Eshwar, was held on Friday.

Officials from different departments also attended the meeting which discussed the plan of action as part of upcoming festivities. During the meeting, the minister instructed the officials to ensure supply of gift packets before December 5 to all the districts across the State, so that the gift packets reach the destitute and deserving Christians 'as gift' from the State government by December 10. Later, arrangements for Chief Minister's dinner programme may be set as another priority.

The Minister also discussed about presentation of eminent Christian awards. Officials informed him that applications were invited from the eligible persons till November 20. Twelve individuals and 6 institutes had been shortlisted.

Koppula Eshwar also called for laying of foundation stone of Christian Bhavan, which is proposed to be taken up by December 20. The meeting also focused on handing over 10 sites consisting of 63 acres and 92 kuntas of burial ground till the end of December necessary steps may be taken.

Rajeshwar Rao, MLC, Elwis Stephenson MLA, B Shankar Luke, Vice-Chairman of TSMC, AK Khan, Advisor to TS govt on Minorities Welfare, Ajay Mishra, Special Chief Secretary (Minority Welfare) Anjani Kumar, City Commissioner of Police, Shahnawaz Qasim, Director of minorities welfare department, Dr Christina Z Chongtu, Commissioner of tribal welfare department., GD Aruna, IAS,(Retd), and AHN Kanthi Wesley, MD, Telangana State Christian Minority Finance Corporation, attended the meeting.
