Kula Vivaksha Porata Samithi to celebrate Phule, Ambedkar birth annivs

Musheerabad: Telangana state committee of Kula Vivaksha Porata Samithi (KVPS) will celebrate birth anniversaries of the famous social thinkers Mahatma Jyothiba Phule and Dr BR Ambedkar at mandal and village levels across the State from April 11 to14.

As part of the celebrations, seminars and social awareness programmes would be conducted. This was stated by the state president and secretaries of KVPS Bhaskar and Skylab Babu in a press note on Wednesday. Explaining the need for remembering the great personalities, Bhaskar said both have strived to provide education and rights to downtrodden people. Mahatma Phule sacrificed everything for providing education to women and downtrodden people, he said.

While the Dr Ambedkar dreamt of eliminating caste system in India, his goals and objectives were limited to providing reservations, he said. The present generation is not fully aware of his real objectives, he said. "It is time we remember Ambedkar's fight for equality to women, nationalization and minimum wages," he said.
