Patancheru: Pigs and dogs are having a field day with stinking and thriving weeds as the SC hostel building in the town is yet to be inaugurated after completion three years back, alleged Kula Vivaksha Porata Samithi (KVPS) State vice-president Athimela Manik, after a team of the organisation went round the premises on Wednesday.

He said the building remains unutilised by students after completion of the work costing crore because of the alleged indifferent attitude of officials. He told The Hans India that Rs 80 lakh had been sanctioned for the building in 2014. Consequently, SC hostel students were forced to stay in congested rooms in private buildings.

The KVPS leader expressed apprehension that the building could be facing illegal occupation. He said in the absence of the compound wall a part of the premises has been encroached, alleging that officials seemed to be indifferent to the occupation.

Manik demanded immediate completion of the compound wall, besides provision of all facilities, before the inauguration the building. He wanted the hostel inmates staying in private buildings to be vacated and shifted to the new premises. If the demand was not conceded by the administration, the KVPS would be forced to launch an agitation, he warned. He was accompanied during the visit by KVPS district joint secretary Shankar, member Vijay Kumar, besides leaders.
