Khairatabad: Mala Mahanadu terms Delhi meet successful
Khairatabad: Mala Mahanadu held a meeting of its activists to review the recently held protest programme 'Chalo Delhi' at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi, at Ambedkar Spoorthy Bhavan in Mint Compound here on Sunday.
Speaking to media after the review meeting, the president of Mala Mahanadu, G Chennaiah, said that their programme met its objectives and thanked the activists who participated in the protest. He said that they met various leaders, central ministers such as Ram Vilas Pashwan, Ramdas Athawale, Thawar Chand Gehlot, BSP leader Mayawati, YSRCP leader Vijayasai Reddy and explained to them about the losses that would incur to SCs if the categorisation of SCs was done.
National leaders were requested to oppose attempts to table the categorisation bill, he said. Chennaiah said than national leaders were explained about how Madiga community reaped benefits in the name of categorisation for the past 25 years and Malas remained backward. Speaking about recent spurt in atrocities against women and children, he demanded government to ensure justice is done to rape victims irrespective of their religion and caste.
Mala Mahanadu general secretary V Bhaskar, youth president G Ramesh, activists Shankar, Chandramohan, Ramu and others were present at the press meet.
