Hyderabad: App helps netas touch base with denizens
The Covid pandemic has brought to the fore tech-driven gadgets and development of many an app for various activities and functions following the Covid-induced new normal in all walks of life.
Covid has also put the contesting candidates in GHMC elections in a piquant situation. They are unable to reach out to voters given the imperative of keeping social distance. However, there is help at hand.
For the benefit of candidates in the upcoming GHMC elections, a city-based organisation Volume Entertainment and Services Private Limited (VESPL) has developed EC360*, an election management mobile app.
Claimed to be only of its kind, it enables the candidates to campaign digitally by keeping voters abreast of their activities and agenda and also sending voters slips etc through WhatsApp or bulk SMS.
Gaddam Shravan Kumar, Managing Director of VESPL, Secunderabad, says, "Due to the current pandemic, contestants cannot organise campaigns in this forthcoming election, so we have developed EC 360* app through which they can organise election campaigns digitally. With a single click, the contestants can reach out to the voters very easily."
The GHMC elections would end within a few days. The names of the contesting candidates from the respective parties are yet to be finalised. The candidates do not have enough time for canvassing.
With the recent increase in the voters, there is also no time to gather booth-wise details.
In this context, the app helps store comprehensive voter information on candidates' phones in a matter of seconds.
With the help of this application, candidates would be able to send voice and text messages and WhatsApp messages directly to the voters. Voter slips can also be printed from time to time through specially integrated Bluetooth printers. Candidates also have a facility to conduct a separate survey of the voters in their constituency and prepare lists of positive, negative and neutral voters.
This is a customised application, where the application will be installed with the data along with Bluetooth printer devices. Recently, this app was installed in the cell phone of Mayor Bonthu Rammohan who appreciated this unique app.
