Congress leader and MP Revanth Reddy

Congress leader and MP Revanth Reddy may not be given TPCC chief post as several senior leaders from the party wrote to Sonia Gandhi targeted him appealing to the Congress high command not to choose him for TPCC chief position and also accused Revanth Reddy having associations with RSS.

The senior leaders also threatened to resign the party if the high command accorded the TPCC chief post to Revanth Reddy. "When the person is closely associated with RSS, how could the Congress party fight with BJP at centre," the letter said.

"Revanth Reddy had campaigned for the Congress during Dubbak bypoll but the party had seen a drastic failure with single digit votes. The GHMC election also proves that the leader had not influenced the voters," the party leaders stated. They also recalled Revanth's remarks against Sonia Gandhi when the former was in TDP.

The letter also mentioned choosing a BC leader as TPCC chief as all the parties in Telangana have given priority to BCs.
