Fish medicine to be distributed on June 8
Hyderabad: The famous fish medicine programme will begin in the city as usual at Nampally Exhibition Grounds on June 8 at 6 pm and will continue till next day evening 6 pm in coordination with the State government officials.
Animal Husbandry & Fisheries Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Chief Secretary SK Joshi, officials and Bathina brothers discussed on the mega event that is conducted every year. Srinivas Yadav said the programme would be conducted in a successful manner.
The State government was extending all support for smooth distribution of fish medicine among those, who throng the stalls in the Exhibition grounds, he said. The minister said the Bathina family was known for involving in the fish distribution among asthma patients since 1845 to mark Mrigasira Karthe. The people consume fish medicine for treatment of Asthma and allergy and get rid of from the breathing problems.
About 3.5 lakh people took the fish medicine last year and this time it will increase he said that for 173 years this programme. The government will take measures to cater to needs of people coming from various states and other countries too. Joshi held a review on better arrangements with departments concerned. (NSS)
