ABVP leaders protest as part of bandh

Basheerbagh: Several ABVP leaders staged a protest, as part of the BJP's call for a State-wide bandh, at Nizam College here expressing their resentment against the State government's alleged failure with regard to the Intermediate results fiasco.

Tension prevailed in the area as the leaders tried to set fire to an effigy of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, which was resisted by the police. The leaders squatted on the road. They were arrested by the police.

The ABVP demanded a total review of the Intermediate results, with revaluation of each paper, black listing of Globarena imposing a huge penalty, sacking of Education Minister G Jagdish Reddy and Inter Board secretary Ashok and a judicial inquiry into the fiasco by a sitting judge and overhaul of the board.
