Bengaluru: New task force for Railways
Bengaluru: Ensuring the safety and security of passengers in trains The Railway Protection Force (RPF) Bengaluru Division and the Government Railway Police (GRP) of Karnataka will now jointly operate under a new task force-Government Railway Police Task Force.
The task force was inaugurated on Monday at KSR Bengaluru Railway Station by Divisional Railway Manager of Bengaluru, Shyam Singh, and Bhaskar Rao, Additional Director General of Police, Railways.
The uniforms for the new task force were sponsored by Danish Mansoor, Editor of ASIA, News Week and International Business Times. Speaking on the occasion Divisional Railway Manager, Shri Shyam Singh said "The Stake Holders in the new task force will work together to make a positive contribution towards crime control in Railway Stations and trains."
"The Task Force formed is first of its kind in Indian Railways and added that the Task Force can function effectively as its members will be able to communicate effectively with Railway Passengers who are from different parts of the country and who speak different languages," said Shri Bhaskar Rao Additional Director General, GRP. The members of the Task Force presented a parade adorning their new uniforms before the dignitaries.
