VJ Chitra's Mother Suspects Foul Play In Actor's Suicide

TV actress Chitra's mother has suspected foul play in the suicide case of her daughter. It may be recalled that the Tamil small screen actress committed suicide at a Chennai hotel on December 9 after she returned from shooting.

The Chennai Police, who filed an FIR in this case had stated that this was a case of suicide. But further investigations are in progress. However, in a recent development the actress's mother has said that she suspects something fishy in the case and also alleged that Chitra's husband Hemanth has murdered her daughter for the sake of her money.

"My daughter is not a coward to commit suicide. I have brought her up as a brave lady. She was very talented. I suspect that Hemanth Kumar married her for her money. I feel that she was physically abused. We can notice injury marks on her face," said her mother who spoke to the media.

The police have booked a suo motu case in this regard and are investigating. But the family members of the actress who spoke to the media have said that they would file a case and fight for justice.

Police are said to have questioned Hemanth. Now, we learn that after collecting the CCTV footage police have called Hemanth for one more round of enquiry. Earlier, Hemant had told the police that after completing the day's shooting Chitra went to have a bath and didn't come back even after a long span of time. But when Hemanth opened the door with the help of hotel staff with a duplicate key, he found his wife hanging. Hemanth, who got engaged to Chitra in the month of August, had married her secretly on October 9.
