Triangular contest in offing in Anaparthi

Rajamahendravaram: The Anaparthi Assembly constituency witnessed elections for 14 times since 1952. Out of 14 elections, 11 Reddy community candidates and three Kamma candidates were elected from this constituency.

Anaparthi is Reddy dominated constituency. In this elections, TDP sitting MLA Nallamilli Rama Krishna Reddy, Jana Sena Party (JSP) candidate R Nageswara Rao were in the fray and the name of Dr S Suryanarayana Reddy not yet officially announced by YSRCP, who is contesting for second time. Nallamilli Mula Reddy was elected on TDP ticket four times from the constituency, Tetali Rama Reddy two times on Congress tickets, VRK Choudary was elected on Congress ticket twice.

In 1952 elections, Congress candidate P Satyanarayana Reddy was elected defeating CPI candidate V Venkata Rao, in 1955 elections Praja Party candidate TLN Reddy was elected defeating candidate K Venkata Reddy, in 1962 elections CPI candidate Panasa Ramanna was elected defeating Congress candidate TLN Reddy, in 1967 elections Congress candidate V Rama Krishna Choudary was elected defeating Independent candidate G Venkata Reddy and in 1972 elections, V Rama Krishna Choudary was elected unanimously. In 1978 elections, Janata candidate Padala Ammi Reddy was elected defeating Congress candidate USN Murthi.

In 1983 and 1985 elections TDP candidate Nallamilli Mula Reddy was elected defeating Congress candidate Padala Ammi Redy. In 1989 elections Congress candidate Tetali Rama Reddy was elected defeating TDP candidate Nallamilli Mula Reddy. Again in 1994 and 1999 elections TDP candidate Nallamilli Mula Reddy was elected defeating Congress candidate Tetali Rama Reddy. In 2004 elections, Congress candidate Tetali Rama Reddy was elected defeating TDP candidate Nallamilli Mula Reddy.

In 2009 elections Congress candidate Nallamilli Sesha Reddy was elected defeating TDP candidate Nallamilli Mula Reddy and in 2014 elections Nallamilli Rama Krishna Reddy son of Mula Reddy was elected defeating YSRCP candidate Dr Satti Suryanarayana Reddy. TDP candidate Nallamilli Rama Krishna Reddy is seeking votes projecting the development in the constituency for five years and Dr S Suryanarayana Reddy is going to the people recalling his services rendering to people in the constituency.
