Ration Dealers in Andhra Pradesh will not be removed: Minister Kodali Nani
The government of Andhra Pradesh has given good news to ration dealers in the state. The ration dealers who expressed concern over the news over removal of ration dealers has been circulating over the past few days. Civil Supplies Minister Kodali Nani said the state government had no intention of removing ration dealers. Minister Kodali Nani told the media on Sunday to this extent that radical changes have been made in the ration rice distributed to the poor people in the state.
Minister Kodali Nani said that steps have been taken to ensure that the rice provided is of better quality. "We are giving quality rice at a cost of Rs 350 crore," he said. As well as Rs. 22 crore was given by the government in the form of commission for dealers. It was revealed that the burden of Rs 270 crore was borne by the government itself for payment of commission to dealers.The state government has made it clear that it will not remove ration dealers. Kodali Nani also announced that the arrears due to ration dealers would also be paid.
There has been speculation that ration dealers will be eliminated after the advent of the system of village secretariats and volunteers in the state. Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's announcement that the goods would be delivered door to door by village and ward volunteers has raised doubts over the system of ration dealers. As the minister Kodali Nani reiterated that the ration dealers would not be removed at this juncture, the dealers are in sigh of relief.
