JD Foundation vows to make Gandhi Hill a pleasant tourist spot

JD Foundation founder and former IPS officer VV Lakshminarayana and representatives of voluntary organisations planting saplings at Gandhi Hill in Vijayawada on Sunday

Vijayawada: About 100 saplings were planted at Gandhi Hill near Gandhi Stupam by the members of JD Foundation on Sunday. Gandhi Hill Committee president Gokaraju Gangaraju, JD Foundation founder and former IPS officer VV Lakshminarayana and others were present.

Speaking on the occasion, Lakshminarayana said that he would strive to transform Gandhi Hill, free from plastic carry bags and waste garbage and as a pleasant tourist place. He said that visitors should use bins to drop waste material and safeguard the environment. Everyone should feel the responsibility to safeguard the environment for our next generations. He said that each one of us should plant at least one plant for a healthy tomorrow.

Gandhi Hill Committee member Durga Prasad, Dr Savan Kumar, Ln Srinivas Rao, Helping Hands representative Roopnath and team, Amrutha Hastam founder D Karunasree and others participated in the plantation of saplings.
