Collector Mohammad Imtiaz holds meet on Gandhi Hill development in Vijayawada
Vijayawada: District Collector Mohammad Imtiaz has said that Gandhi Hill in Vijayawada should be developed as a tourist place and the members of Gandhi Society should give their suggestions on it.
At a review meeting held on Wednesday at collector camp office, he said that Mahatma Gandhi visited Gandhi Hill about six times and the night view of the city from the hill will be beautiful. He said that apart from developing the Gandhi Hill as a tourist spot, Bapu museum should also get a facelift.
Former Member of Parliament and Gandhi Hill Society president Gokaraju Gangaraju said that the hill is spread in 18 acres and is one of the historic monuments which is attracting the tourists.
VMC Commissioner Prasanna Venkatesh, Cultural Centre of Vijayawada and Amaravati CEO Dr E Sivanagi Reddy, businessman Ganesh, district tourism officer Dr Velaga Joshi and others were present.
