Home Minister expresses doubts over Kodela’s death

Darsi: Home Minister Mekathoti Sucharitha requested the Telangana government to conduct a thorough and detailed inquiry in the case of the suspicious death of former Assembly Speaker Dr Kodela Siva Prasada Rao.

The Home minister inaugurated a fire station at Darsi on Tuesday afternoon along with the local MLA Maddisetty Venugopal and Director General of the Department of Disaster Response and Fire Services, AR Anuradha.

The fire station was built with a budget of Rs 75 lakh in a two-acre land. Speaking to the media, the home minister announced that the vacancies in the fire services department would be filled up by giving notification in every January.

She announced that the State government has taken all measures to work in natural calamities like floods and fire accidents. She said that there is a large demand from the public to arrange fire stations in their locality.

She said that they would conduct checks in schools and colleges for every three years to verify that the buildings following fire safety norms. She asked the women to call 100, 102 and 182 in emergencies for protection.

She said that the YSR Congress Party was expressing sympathy to the family members of the Kodela Sivaprasada Rao for his death and alleged that the Telugu Desam Party was resorting to cheap politics.

She said that they have doubts over the death of the former Assembly Speaker as a news channel quoted that he is died of a heart attack first and later announced that he died by taking an overdose of medicines. She said that the same channel later announced that Kodela died due to hanging himself.

She said that the investigation is going on in the case and requested the police department there to conduct a detailed inquiry on the death of Sivaprasada Rao and let the world know the truth.
