Health Minister inspects Eluru Government Hospital

Eluru: Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister Alla Nani warned officials of serious action if he notices any corrupt practices in government hospitals. During surprise inspection of Eluru Government Hospital on Friday, Nani enquired the patients about their health and conditions in hospital. He tried to know from patients about the problems confronted by them.

Referring to allegations of corruption in hospital by a few TV channels, Nani said that the government ordered probe into the same. He condemned corrupt practices when the patients suffering from diseases. Some corrupt elements have been bringing bad name to government by fleecing the patients. If any hospital is suffering from corruption ailment, the government have its own remedies to root out the corrupt, he warned.

Stating that the government had equipped Eluru Government Hospital with modern facilities, the Health Minister said that sending patients out to get X-ray and scanning will not be tolerated.

The Minister also inspected sanitation in the hospital and verified the condition of toilets personally. Medical and Health principal secretary Jawahar Reddy, Medical and health commissioner Durgaprasad, Collector R Muthyala Raju accompanied him during one-hour-long surprise inspection of the hospital.
