Guntur: CPI leader demands fresh notification for civic polls

Guntur: Communist Party of India state assistant secretary Muppalla Nageswara Rao demanded the State Election Commission to issue a fresh election notification for conducting local body elections and conduct elections with the help of the Central forces in a peaceful manner.

Addressing a press meet held at Mallaiahlingam Bhavan in Guntur city on Friday, he recalled that the state government transferred Macherla DSP following instructions of the SEC and did not transfer Guntur rural SP. He stressed on need the to release fresh notification for conducting the local elections.

He demanded Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy not to shift the capital from Amaravati. He also demanded the Chief Minister to tender an apology for his reaction on Coronavirus. He felt that it was not correct to distribute lands given for the construction of state capital Amaravati to the poor for house sites. He demanded the government to review the decision.

CPI district secretary J. Ajay Kumar was also present on the occasion.
