Eluru: West Godavari District Collector R Muthyala Raju has directed the election deputy Tahsidlar and senior assistants to complete voter verification and data entry before September 30.

He reviewed voter verification with officials at Collectorate here on Thursday. He said booth level officers, supervisors along with Anganwadi workers should carry out door-to-door voter verification in the district.

If all the 3411 booth-level officers and 331 supervisors work effectively, cent per cent verification and entry into app will be completed. Out of total 32,44,484 voters in the district, particulars of 73,367 voters were verified so far.

While details of 61,658 voters were perfect, the remaining 11,709 voters need scrutiny. If necessary, corrections should be carried out and mistakes should be avoided, he ordered.

The Collector ordered them to submit details such as how many families each supervisor covered and how many voters verified. He ordered the officials to issue show-cause notices if they failed to meet the targets by ignoring duties.

When some Tahsildars complained that supervisor and Anganwadi workers were not cooperating, the Collector turned furious and asked them why should they continue in job if they failed to extract work from Anganwadi workers and supervisors. The Collector also found some reports faulty and expressed anger that he would not tolerate lies and wrong reports.
