Eluru: Call to deliver services at doorstep through secretariats
Eluru: West Godavari District Collector R Muthyala Raju has said the purpose of village/ward secretariats will be served only when the petitioners get all the services at their doorstep.
Addressing a workshop on village secretariat system here on Tuesday, he said that the State government intends to deliver all services and goods at the doorstep of people without any delay through village/ward secretariat system. He instructed the secretariat staff and volunteers to strive to fulfill the ambition of the government.
They should work in such a manner that people should think of the secretariat in their area when they need any services. The staff should have a thorough understanding of Navaratnalu and schemes intended for welfare of the poor. The volunteers should always keep in mind the details and needs of 50 families allotted to them. Volunteers have the responsibility of helping the people in their jurisdiction to apply for schemes and benefits intended to them and should be prepared to solve any problem brought to their notice by the people.
The District Collector directed the officials concerned to impart training to the secretariat staff on the kind of services they are supposed to deliver to people. He called upon the volunteers and secretariat staff to discharge their duties with commitment and without giving any room for accusations and corruption.
