English Medium introduced 1 to 8th from next year- Education Minister

Kadapa: State education minister and also in charge minister for Kadapa A. Suresh said that government has decided to introduce English Medium in all government schools 1to 8th class 2020-1 educational year.

Speaking to media persons here on Thursday the aim of the government in making English Medium compulsory because of promoting students at international level in the English language. However the minister said and at the same time, the Telugu language also will be given priority as that subject will be a teacher in the schools.

Saying that the role of teachers very crucial the minister disclosed that training will be given through eminent professors in the English language to as many as 98,000 teachers from January 2020 to May in a phased manner.

Defending the step of the government in introducing English language, Deputy Chief Minister Amzadh Basha said youth should have adequate job opportunities if they got sufficient knowledge in English. Badvel MLA Venkata Subbaiah, MLC Govinda Reddy, DEO Sailaja and others were present.
