Elections will create awareness among students: Principal

Ongole: The management of Ongole Public School has been conducting elections for the students every year to bring awareness among them about the election process.

School Principal G Kavita Kadiresan said that election for the post of school pupil leader (Tenth class), assistant school pupil leader (Ninth class) and school prefect (Fifth class) would be conducted every year.

She said that like in the case of general elections, there would be nominations, withdrawal of nominations, election propaganda, allocation of election symbols to the candidates and finally secret ballot voting.

The elected candidates took oath on the school premises on Saturday. R Rohith Royal elected as school pupil leader (SPL), C Sahitya as assistant school pupil leader (ASPL) and V Manvita as School Prefect took oath in a colour function. Sirisha, head of social department who acted as the returning officer congratulated the students for the smooth conduct of elections.

Ongole Public School secretary Nalluri Venkata Kranti Kumar, vice-principal P Jameema, Dean M Srinivasa Rao, teachers and students were present at the swearing-in function.
