Donors urged to adopt hospital wards: Ramu Suryarao
Eluru: West Godavari District Hospital Development Committee chairman Ramu Suryarao called upon the philanthropists to donate liberally to build new departments in the Eluru Government Hospital as it was sanctioned with new equipment for treating heart diseases.
Presiding over a meeting of the committee, the MLC said that the donors should come forward to adopt wards in hospital for its development and to extend better services to patients. He said it would cost Rs 25 lakh to construct a new building to keep the modern equipment of heart diseases.
As the new YSRCP government was bearing the medical expenditure of more than Rs 1,000, everybody should come forward to donate liberally to improve facilities in the hospitals. Everyone should treat hospitals as temples in this context, he appealed. He said that the government sanctioned Rs 266 crore for medical college in Eluru.
Hospital Superintendent Dr AVR Mohan said that 61 posts were vacant in the hospital and estimation is being prepared on the expenditure to provide infrastructure in the hospital, he added. DCHS Dr K Sankara Rao, the committee members, Dr Gopala Krishnaiah, Nageswararao, Dr Prasad, Bhaskara Rao, Azam Babu and others were present.
