Dock-less bike services to hit pilgrim city soon
Tirupati: Bounce, India's fastest growing dock-less bike sharing player, announced its plan to launch 100 electric scooters in Tirupati by the end of this year. In an event organised in Tirupati, the company launched its vision to make the city pollution-free.
The Municipal Corporation of Tirupati (MCT) has been working with different stakeholders including auto unions to convert auto rickshaws into battery-operated vehicles. Taking this opportunity, Bounce has entered the city as the first one to introduce shared electric scooters.
The announcement was made at an event attended by the MCT Commissioner PS Girisha, MLA B Karunakar Reddy and others. Girisha said this will be the first step towards the adoption of sustainable mode of shared transportation and help in the efforts to make the city pollution-free.
Karunakar Reddy said the city has been growing rapidly which needs bike sharing services. Both the denizens and pilgrims will have access to greener and cleaner commuting options.
CEO of Bounce Vivekananda Hallekere stated that it was their vision to make daily commute stress-free, reliable and time saving for urban India through shared mobility solutions. Bounce electric scooters are aimed at encouraging commuters to opt for eco-friendly shared transport and reducing traffic congestion and pollution.
In the same event, Amara Raja has launched the fleet of e-autos and Electric Vehicle (EV) charging / swapping station. As part of Smart City initiative, the company has undertaken the programme in collaboration with the MCT. The Lithium Ion battery packs and EV battery charging stations were designed and developed in the state-of-the-art R&D facilities at Amara Raja.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman of group Dr Ramachandra N Galla made it clear that the company was committed to take part in the government's initiatives to drive green mobility in the country. RTO G Vivekananda Reddy also participated in the event.
