Disha Act will provide speedy justice to rape victims: SP Rajakumari

Vizianagaram: Superintendent of Police B Rajakumari said that the government is giving top priority for protection of women and children. As part of their security, she said the government initiated the new Disha Act to control the crime against women and to provide speedy justice. On Saturday, she participated in a videoconference with the Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, who inaugurated the Disha police station in Rajamahendravaram.

Later, the SP stated that special police teams will be deployed for women safety and the teams would respond immediately after receiving any phone call. If any women facing trouble to reach their homes during night, she said they can call the Disha teams and even avail vehicle service to reach their homes safely.

The Disha police station is constructed in the middle of the town in police parade ground and in which a counselling room and a lactation room is also provided, she stated. She called upon the women and girl students to register this number of the police station and avail the help of police in emergency.
