Vizianagaram: SP Rajakumari asks tribal youth to avail government welfare schemes
Salur (Vizianagaram): Superintendent of Police B Rajakumari on Thursday called upon the tribal youth to avail the schemes and facilities provided by the government.
Participating in a programme organised at Erra Samanthavalasa village of Salur mandal, she said youth should have healthy habits like games, sports and reading books and help the senior citizens. Such habits would increase their self-confidence, she pointed out.
Later she kick-started a volleyball tournament. She said that sports would increase the physical stamina of youth. The youth should not be attracted towards bad habits like smoking tobacco, ganja and consumption of alcohol. She said the youth should work hard to come up in their life. She also launched a mega health camp in Duggeru village attended by ophthalmologists and general physicians.
The doctors conducted medical checkups for tribes and distributed medicines at free of cost. Later the SP interacted with the locals and distributed blankets, groceries, umbrellas, chappals and other essential materials. OSD N Suryachandra Rao and DSP A Subhash participated in the programme.
